Covid-19 Response Plan

UPDATED: August 30, 2023

We are committed to continue offering the live entertainment and educational experiences you enjoy at the Civic as safely as possible and in a manner designed to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. To that end, please review our updated COVID-19 Response Plan prior to any visit to the Civic.

MASK POLICY:  When coming to enjoy a show, masks are optional for audience members in all of our venues, unless the local transmission level is high.  When the local transmission level is high, masks are required in all venues.  For the Academy of Theatre Arts, please contact the Director of Education and Outreach to confirm the policy for classes and camps.

For the safety of our cast and crew members, we respect the decision of any performer to wear a mask onstage if they choose.  Also, we reserve the right to require performers to wear masks onstage in the event there has been exposure in the cast or crew.

VACCINATION POLICY:  While the Civic is fully supportive of the COVID-19 vaccines, and believe they are a valuable tool in reducing community spread and the severity of COVID-19, we will no longer require proof of vaccination in order to participate in our programs or productions.  Of course, we will continue to monitor conditions and reserve the right to change the policy at any time.

HEALTH SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE AND TEMPERATURE CHECKS: We will no longer be conducting temperature checks.  However, anyone visiting our facilities for any reason must review the health screening questionnaire posted at each entrance to our facilities.  If you answer “yes” to any of the screening questions, or are feeling unwell, we ask that you please not enter the facility and that you call the box office for an exchange or refund.  If you are not feeling well, or if you are exhibiting any symptoms associated with COVID-19, we kindly ask that you remain at home.

HAND SANITIZING: Hand sanitizing stations are located throughout our facilities and at the entrances to each venue. In addition, our Academy schedules time for frequent hand washing and sanitizing.

REFUND AND EXCHANGE POLICY: We will offer a flexible refund and exchange policy in the event you are unable to attend due to illness or quarantine.

PROGRAMS AND CONCESSIONS:
We will be offering an abbreviated program for each production, with a QR code to download a digital, detailed program.  For certain productions, we may offer limited concessions.

Given the ever-changing situation, our policies and protocols are reviewed on an ongoing basis in accordance with the most up-to-date recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with local and national health officials.  As a result, they are subject to change without notice.
