Classic
It’s often said that laughter is the best medicine, and nowhere is that prescription more accurate than in this rib-tickling, all new adaptation of the classic hypochondriac. The wealthy Argan is housebound with every disease in the book. Lurking around are any number of quacks that are only too happy to (mis)treat him. Family troubles, including a money-grubbing wife and two headstrong daughters, only add to Argan’s miseries. Complete with original songs, satirical bite and the requisite bawdiness, this telling of the classic comedy gets an injection of 1960’s French pop culture. If you’re looking for a good laugh, this show is just what the doctor ordered!
Disclaimer: The Imaginary Invalid does contain occasional innuendo and double-entendre. With that caution, it will be best enjoyed by playgoers 14 and up who can keep up with the puns and wordplay.
